Book: Girl Talk: Unsolicited Advice for Modern Ladies
Author: Christie Young
Publication Date: August 14, 2014
Rating: 2.85/5
Girl Talk is a charmingly illustrated book featuring light hearted "advice" aimed towards young women who have nothing better to do than stress over text messages and zit cream. I had a bit of a hard time reading through it, but could appreciate some of the humorous anecdotes and the overall message. For a book that relies heavily on it's illustrations, I was surprised by how boring the color palette was - yellow, black and white. Honestly, it's a little cringe worthy to look at if you're over the age of 21. Or maybe 17. It's a cute enough book that I could see it being gifted as part of a care package to someone you don't know that well; but otherwise it's the type of book you'll skim through once and never touch again or take away anything meaningful from unless you aim to become quite self involved.
I received this book for review purposes from Blogging for Books; all opinions are my own.
